(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?]
I am brand new. I don't yet have chickens, but I'm working on it.


(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None. I'm in the planning phase at the moment.

(3) What breeds do you have?
None yet.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I'm not sure yet.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I knit and crochet, plus I enjoy carpentry.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a "sandwicher," and I'm trying to raise a child and care for my mom as well. I also have two indoor cats(Ruby and Pearl) and one outdoor(T'challa).

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I just found it on google, and I decided to join because I'm planning a coop, based on the frame of my daughter's old playset.

Welcome from Northern California. This is truly an awesome place to be when considering chickens. I still consider myself to be new at raising chickens. I started my flock in 2023. Right now I have 6 hens. The breeds are 2 are Rhode Island red's, an Easter egger, an olive egger, a white leghorn and a black sex link. My favorite part of raising chickens is the way they interact with me. My other hobbies are gardening and giving others advice on gardening and raising chickens. I have 3 dogs and 4 ducklings. I also have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. My husband works and I just take care of the everything else. I think I found the sight in 2019 and I am still loving it.
