HOA- Are Doves and Pigeons Against the Rules??

Nope you are fine. The same laws go for my area (though I'm going to break the rules to hatch ducks! SHH don't tell!) and doves and even quail are sold at a local pet shop so yea they are fine.
Good luck with your feathered friends!!

With being a neighbour to a man and his racing pigeons I am fast becoming a hater of pigeons. I am however a lover of most things of nature but everyday the pigeons in large numbers... 30/40 pigeons fly over my house, my property, my clean washing on the line (which i no longer hang on the line but keep it all on clothes racks inside). Wash the car and by the end of the day it will be shat on a number of times. I was out washing the outside of my windows and I felt like the little icon on the bottom of a space invaders game, they fly over and clunk clunk on the roof I hear. I cannot sit in the sun with ease when they fly. So yeah... its one thing to say what you do on your property is your business but once birds venture off your property and invade others and alter their life...shoot the ******** I say.

That's a bit harsh know my neighbours have chickens I have pigeons the chickens and the roosters are very loud and my neighbours on the other side has cats and dogs I have dogs too the cars killed allot of my pigeon about 7 and the dogs are very loud I don't do anything about it it's nature sh**ing Is nature the keeping of pigeons not many people have them so let it be

@ Summersnight;

I am a pigeon fancier also. I loft fly my birds first thing in the morning 0600hrs and again around 1800hrs. They do venture out of sight but in my case are back in minutes. The rest of the time they are confined to my loft.

I am sure they do what bears and pigeons do best in the woods and on statues. However my birds have freedom at most 2 to 3 hours a day on average.

I would estimate that 75% of that time is on my property.

If your pigeon fancier adapted this routine hopefully it would help everyone concerned.

My neighbours know my routine and outside of a few false suspicions of rain when my pigeons fly over we live in harmony and no one has complained to me yet.

I have 63 trips around the sun and have been living in the same place for close to 40 years.
My pigeons love their loft and that is where they want to stay the majority of the time. They will race home 600 miles to be there none stop.

If he is letting them fly at large all day I can see your stand 100% and am in agreement with it.

He is being a nuisance and giving pigeon fanciers a black eye.

By definition poultry is the keeping of birds for food. You do not plan to eat them, so they are pets. You would win. Our HOA has the exact same language. No one has ever confronted me about my ducks. One of my neighbors had pigeons and the HOA made them take down the pigeon house, because if fit the description of an outbuilding, which is not allowed. That may be an issue for you. I posted my property no trespassing. I will use it if I need to.

Also, read the rules of the HOA. Their may be an error in it, as there is in ours. If they ever complain about my ducks, I will force them to enforce the rules and take down every satellite dish in the neighborhood.

@summersnight711

Tell your neighbor your problem about how he is flying his birds, and offer him these simple tips before others take actions.. simply only feed his birds in evening, and lok in for night after done eating and take out any uneaten food by dark. it'll makehis birds fly better and they will only to mostly only poop on roosts at night or right when get up, and not otherwise. my newest kit of birm rolkers fly and sit above me all day, and i haven't been nailed or even close in the month I've started training them. nor have i been pooped in ever from flyiers. ifhe won't he may have mental proems, a grip with you, or just too lazyto clean after the birds and feeds them right before lets out.

The condo i was in tried to get after me when management changed, but until they amended lease and said had to redo lease or leave, i got them when called cops, as mini chickens (bantams), mini ducks like calls (which horribly loud and I've never had) as well as muscovy ducks (so silent!), mini teacup pigs which never had, mini donkey which never had, and mini goats which did have, are not typecally bred for farm purposes, so classified as pets as long as kept as pets inside, or kept appropriately outside (possibly needing special building against on under porch, as detached structures for stock animals need special structural types and zoning at times. how why in cities its legal to keep especially pigeons chickens ducks and rabbits and even dogs ect, but laws on housing were put in. these laws are overlooked horribly for dogs rabbbots and smaller furry critters, but enforced for any supposed "poultry" (why i say i had doves and not pigeons when lived in city). cause city inspector couldn't do anything state guy was hounded enough to come out, and said there was maximum amount to be had that considered pets and not requiring license to keep all, as then be breeder ect license, otherwise in violation of a basic numbercode,

For health code. zoning in back yard saved me, and on occupancy code or whatever it was, ijust let some pigeons out, and he said as new management said to net trap shoot then ect.. that when within numbers of keeping under pet classifications in pet cages in house, or birds let out free flown and fuly flighted, that they couldn't legally harass them as pigeons being doves and no amendments made otherwise, they are protected under migratory bird act federally. meaning if pet pigeons are free flying you need federal permit to shoot, and no defined hunting season specifically established. all state amd city sanctioned shooting poisoning and trapping ect, is illegal (though not enforced. further its illegal federally to shoot a banded bird of any kind, but specufic rule for domestic pigeons, lobbied i think credit to officials themselves that were including a president, and racing pigeon clubs across nation and world (pigeons pass and poop on politics), though i maybe forgetting credit to USA roller society or similar. too bad no one joins together any more as groups to demand or hobbies federal rights are upheld. i gave in and moved out of town, i had law on my side and just got contin
