Coop trainng update!
The first night they were in the coop, they were in the far corner of the run, huddled together, and we had to pick each chick up and place them in the coop.
The second and third nights, they were huddled by the big coop door and walked themselves in when I opened it.
Tonight, they used the chicken door and all of them were in the coop when I went to go lock them up!
So proud! They're learning!

I also gave them carrot scraps today, shreds and ends, and their pecking must be really strong now because I didn't find any chunks of carrot ends left.

I was going to sprout some scratch for them, but I bought the wrong brand and it has cracked corn and pellets in it. I went ahead and separated a small scoop of scratch into whole grains and corn and pellets, which took a few hours, and I am still going to sprout the grains, but I need to find a scratch that doesn't have cracked corn or pellets in it. Any suggestions? I bought the Nutrena scratch.

They'll be 8 weeks old tomorrow!
Basil has started his feeble attempts at crowing.
The leghorn rooster is also very sweet.
