How do geese see?

I know this is an old thread but it is an interesting topic...

Yes, they do see some UV as well as what we see. So they do see the world differently then we do. Butterflies have a considerably larger visual range even. I think it is likely that geese are able to identify gender based on coloration that is hidden to us. I don't know of research on this in geese in particular but it seems to be pretty common among birds that don't have obvious gender difference in our visual spectrum. If anyone wants to do a DIY experiment to test it out I think we could hatch a plan to test it out fairly inexpensively.
