I would like info on how to build wire cages. Right now I am using dog crates. I need to make something a little bigger for my roos!

Frame a little cage just from 2x2" lumber and then install the welded wire like they are a wall or somthing, look at this cage I build a while ago,

Thanks for posting this. I guess, since I used old rabbit cages--that I had to convert!!!--I never considering building. But, THIS way, I can make one the size that I want. I guess that's what this site does best.

There are books available that can teach how to build wire cages...try some of the suppliers on the net....an all wire cage would be lighter than a wood framed...But if you are using them to travel on week ends to sell birds, than the wood IMO is the way to go.
I just love projects and building a cage can be fun.

That is sooooooooo nice.
I just got some Lobster pots from CL that we are going to convert to cages for $5.00/each.

I made these with just wire and "J" clips
They are 30 X 30 X 24 , but can be made most any size.

They work great for the rabbits, and would be just as good for chickens

Oh the lobster pots would make a great cage for traveling to shows and stocks!
