I need to buy corrugated plastic roofing panels from Home Depot but they are 8ft long and won’t fit in my car. What handheld tool will cut them perfectly? I plan to trim them in the parking lot so that they can fit in the backseat of my car.

Ask them to cut them down on the panel saw. Cross cuts only. When I worked at a Depot we didn’t charge.

I use tin snips and just make sure you're cutting it when it's not cold out as when it's cold they break. your hand will be sore but it does the trick in a pinch. it's hard for them to cut of your with a saw as the blade can break the plastic

Would tin snips work too?

Maybe, but likely not. Show me what this roof sheeting really is. You get many kinds and the ones we have, will not be cut with that.

Some are made from strong policarbonate, some from a type of glass fiber.

I buy mine in 6 meter lengths, 20 feet and they deliver. Unless you live in a wilder place than Argentina, that should be your default option.

On cutting, the disk of an angle grinder rotates at a crazy speed, making for a clean cut and no breakage. Tin snips will likely make a mess, including cracks in your sheet.
