How do you store your feed/scratch?

Hello. I am looking for ideas for storing my feed/scratch. I currently keep all feed/scratch in our feed/tack room which is in our basement through an outside door. We have some mice friends getting into it. What do you use that works? Metal trash cans? Plastic feed containers? Thanks in advance.

Garden centres. The range. Homebase. B&Q. Places like that

I got a 10 gallon metal can with a lid (not locking) at TSC. It holds a 50 pound bag of feed. I keep it in the mud room, where I have all the "chicken stuff."

The lid is very snug fitting, and it's mouse proof, which was the reason I got it.

Metal all the way.... I keep scratch 50lb. bag in metal can but I fill up an empty plastic with lid, whey powder or empty coffee can and leave it out during the day because I don't have rodents. I put those in metal cans at night.

I should also point out that I can fit 80lb of food in there it is completely rodent proof

I agree with others on metal cans but probably good to leave feed in bag in metal can, not just dumping it in. Depending on your weather or where you store can, Metal sweats and can cause mold to grow from the dampness from sweating. I just line my cans with plastic bag and or leave feed in waterproof bag it comes in.

Reinforced with something waterproof I hope as paper bag wouldn't work to keep moister out.
