How does an egg turner work? Doesn't it just rock back n forth?

It keeps the embryo from sticking to the membrane one spot, thus keeping it from being able to move when it comes time to pip and zip.

Rocking back and forth is fine.... and it works.

Yup, poiny end down... and NO, you DON'T sound stupid.

I learn something new on here EVERYDAY. I love it... that's why I spend time here... and then I try and spread the knowledge.

I turn my eggs 2 times a day even while in the egg turner because the turner doesn't turn them all the way around.

technically you can use just the turner, But I have read that your hatch rate goes up if you turn them once or twice a day while using the egg turner and I agree with it.

Today 5:31 pm How do you turn them if they are in an egg turner?

I was wondering the same thing.
Please tell me if I have this correct....
You put the eggs in with the small end (pointed) down, and what the egg turner does is just rock them back and forth.
Is it still necessary to "turn," them someway?

Sorry for the ignorance here, I just don't think I understand it yet.

Yes , it rocks back and forth , thats all you need. but some people say if you twist the egg 90 degrees once or twice a week plus let it rock, you will have even better hatching results. just twist it to the right 90 degrees then let it rock , twist and rock,, thanks
