How long do guinea eggs store before incubation?

I looked at two different websites and they said only 7 days. A lot of people only keep chicken eggs up to 7 days, but ive raised chickens for years and i know they can store for up to 14 days or sometimes 16 before incubation. So when i saw it said 7 days i thought of course they should store longer. Plus, i always see pictures of guinea hens sitting on like 20 something eggs so...its very confusing with all these different sources. Im new to guineas an this is my first time hatching them. Thanks for any info

I think about 7 days would be best, but this spring we had all three incubators full and had three dozen guinea eggs left over. They sat on the counter for three weeks (all had to be over 21 days old) when we got an incubator tray open. I didn't even turn them while waiting, was going to eat or just pitch them. Just for kicks and giggles I sat them all. We had 16 hatch out of 36 eggs we sat. Almost half....

I've had hatches not much better before with fresh eggs.

A good friend of mine told me that you can expect an egg to stay viable for half the time it takes to incubate them... so, Guinea eggs typically take 28 days to hatch and would stay viable for 14 days after being laid.

I normally try to set my eggs within the 7 day time frame too, but definitely by the 10th day. I store them under 68° and I try to turn them at least twice a day. I have had 16-17 day old stored eggs hatch fine many times in the past tho.

And if you think about it...sometimes 1 Hen will lay 20-28 eggs in a nest and hatch out most if not all of her eggs.

I agree with Peeps i set mine as soon as i have enough to fill a bator which is usually 3 to 4 day.
I had a guinea lay 17 eggs in a nest and go to sitting ,out of the 17 16 developed and 14 of them hatched so there is a pretty good wondow for setting their eggs.
