how long for rigamortis to set in?

I just went to round up my chickens from free ranging and found 2 dead both in rigamortis. One was on the floor of the coop under the roosting bars and the other was on the floor of the run. Strangely enough there was also a dead bird outside of their run. I let them out to free ran about 90 minutes ago but honestly didn't pay attention much when i opened up the run because i had to hurry back inside. I'm not sure if they were both dead before i let them out or after. Typically how long does it take for rigamortis to set in? I am try to figure out when or how it happened. There was no signs of a psychical wound on either chicken (or the random dead bird in the yard). one hen was about 2 years old and the other about 7 months and in good health before today. any help or suggestions is appreciated. I am reviewing our security cameras to see if anything jumped in our yard that our 3 dogs didn't notice but the camera doesn't have a great view of the coop because its in the back corner of our yard.

Thank you. Kinda a gross question but do you have any idea how long after a hen dies the other will start to eat it? The one in the run was just starting to be peck at by the other when i found her.

Oh I have no clue on that matter. I butcher my birds so I only know the rigor times.

It sets in quickly in birds from 30 mins to an hour.
As for how long it takes for others to partake in a chicken dinner it depends on the chickens and how much they want that easy protein.

Rigor mortis (which is Latin, meaning "stiff death") also fades away after awhile. I"m not sure exactly how long for birds, but eventually things go limp again.
