how many chickens did you start out with??

Started out with 2. The most we have had at one time was 12... I am now, as of today, down to one rooster and 8 hens. If I get a broody, I may let her sit on Leghorn eggs. (or d'uccle eggs)

hubby says the 3 ducks have to go.

We started with 25 chicks last February from McMurray, and added 3 ducks on a whim in May from our local TSC.

We were down to 2 ducks and 15 chickens, through a combination of sales and predators, so ordered 20 chicks, 2 more ducks, and 2 geese this year.

Last year I started out wanting 4. When we went to pick up the first 2 I talked Dh into getting 4. We went a couple of weeks later and got 2 more.

Now I have 18!

We were talking about how big we needed to make the coop and Dh said we might as well make it bigger than I planned because he's sure I'll want more next year.
