1 was proper size and intact…2nd had a defect in the shell
I’ve got to pick up calcium to see if that helps

Mine are new layers so I don't know if it's calcium or just working out the kinks

I see it mostly in my older girls.
It happens in new layers. If you haven't put oyster shell out you really should once your girls get into laying everyday they can deplete their calcium reserves and offering oyster shell can help.
