ohhh kk it must be the daylight hours actually - today i have exactly 12 hours and 3 minutes from first light to last light -

Sunrise today was at 7:23 and sunset is 6:21. Less than 12 hours, so yeah.

so hmmm let’s see yours is
10 hours 58 minutes now.
my sunrise to sunset today is 7:16 to 6:25 . 11 hours 9 min.
my birds only get 11 minutes more than yours do …
i wonder if birds in Equador lay more eggs overall

75 eggs the past 10 days, or about 7 - 8 eggs per day; that’s a small egg decrease since I last posted.

I’m at about 11.5 hours of daylight here.

You would think so, since they don't get the snow and cold. Then again, they may be more seasonal.
