How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

3x8 so 24 square feet and ostensibly that's enough for quite a lot of chicks but I won't let them out to free range for WEEKS so not sure about that. Not quite sure how many I can really
24 sg ft is adequate for 6 full grown LF hens. Figure 4 sq ft per hen. This is in the coop, right? Then figure a minimum of 10 to 12 sq ft per hen in the run.

yeah I was not talking about full grown hens. I thought I was clear I was talking about chicks. I'm thinking a lot of people don't read a lot posts nor remember. That makes me kinda sad, I try and remember everyone who posts in here and what they talk about.

Anyway, I'm talking about a brooder, for chicks. 12 are just fine in there for 8 weeks, which is about when I will let them begin to wander around the hen house/outside. But today I am going to extend it even more to 36 square feet.

I have a giant shed that is my hen house, 160 square feet and my chickens free range all day, so they are not enclosed. They come back to the hen house to lay, to roost and to eat when they aren't foraging. I am partitioning off a part of the hen house for the brooder, so they will be integrated easily.

edit;

Honestly I've shown pics of it in this thread and how I made it and dang man, can't people try and remember stuff? lol

It makes me not want to post about it. Ah well

Ah, sorry. Yeah, I'm old and I read a LOT of threads. My bad. Don't go away. Please try to make allowances. Just roll your eyes, sigh and move on.

It's okay, I suppose I am afraid I was hit right in a sensitive spot and didn't react the best.

I decided, though, to just make a post in the 'stories' forum to try and collect all of my stuff in one place - but I love this thread! I will always come back to it.

I just began posting more than just a # because I thought it would be interesting to read sometimes :love
