1 bright and early today ... and in the nest box. Miracles happen lol

2 today, from Juin and Juillet who had a bit of a tussle over the favored nest box. Juin came away with a bloody comb, poor thing. Nothing serious though, and I patched her up right away.

It’s finally happened! My sweet Août is molting! Gone are the days of watching her look dejected and droopy, wondering if she’ll lay another soft egg overnight. She has pep in her step now, and is frolicking and playing with the young pullets! It’s such a heartwarming sight to behold!

Hopefully she resets her factory, I am hoping my Petunia does that, she is moulting also.

17 today. One brittle egg which messed up 3 eggs requiring washing.

7 yesterday and 6 intact eggs with gooey egg shell fragments so we probably had 7 today as well.
The weatherman got it wrong - the thunderstorms he promised never came to pass. We had gray drizzly mornings that turned into beautiful blue skies in the afternoon the first part of the week and now it's just hot!

Yes, I really hope so! How is Butterscotch doing? Has she begun molting too? I’m glad your Petunia is getting a break!
