Most of my hens are like at their peak laying age, plus a few older ladies.. 12 hens total.. 5 eggs

I'm getting 3-4 eggs per day from 18 hens.
In good laying season I would get about a dozen eggs per day from the same girls. But there are three factors I need to consider. One, they all look like they're having a bad feather day due to their molting. Yes, molting season is in full effect. Two, the weather has been drastic. And three, about a third of my flock are old hens that no longer pop out eggs like hot cakes. I have not raised chicks in over 2 years (pat myself on the back). I'm hoping to get more little chickies next spring.

The bad thing for me is I hope for chicks every spring

Forgot to post yesterday…my sister found an egg when she got home from work at 2. I found another when I closed up the coop for the night.

2 eggs yesterday from Juin and Juillet.

I almost missed Juillet’s egg, as she apparently laid it while we were out foraging that morning. I had thought she was just preening under her favorite chokecherry tree because she was standing up the whole time, no nesting behavior at all. She must have just popped it out and never gave it a backward glance lol.
