How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I've considered raising meat rabbits but have no experience with them. In what ways are they more trouble than hens (I believe you, just curious)?
They need to be housed separately, you can’t reallly run them together they fight like bonkers, Does need to have separate housing when they have their babies, Bucks cannot be housed with the Does or other Bucks (fighting).

More housing (cages) means more cleaning. If kept on wire flooring they get sores on their hocks, solid floors mean almost daily cleaning.

Watering feeding individuals takes more time.

You definitely cannot ‘free range’ or ‘pasture’ rabbits like you can chooks.

Chooks are communal animals that pretty much get along, housing is fairly easy to clean, feeding is fast with large capacity feeders and waterers. They can free range/pasture in good weather to help with feed costs.

Thank you. I searched more thoroughly when I got home yesterday but found no sign of her. I will miss her terribly. She was a character - I call her Mean Red because she tended to bully her flock mates but that was if they were jockeying for my lap. She gets VIP service there since she liked to be hand fed her meal worms. Sorry I rambled.

She didn't think that I was dispensing treats fast enough.
Awwww so sorry to hear this. Our chooks can be trying at times - like all our pets, we get attached.

What a sweet girl! I can see you were very special to one another. I’m sorry again for your loss, it’s so hard to lose them. :hugs
