How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Only 6 yesterday; we've had a wicked cold snap I am guessing that is affecting them? I am new to this haha

Sophia laid this morning; she'd gone 3 days without laying. Is that normal?

Yesterday, I was so convinced there was a nest in the hedge I got hazmat suited up (yick, spiders!) and dug around in all the thick spots, all over the entire hedge from one side to the nest and NADA. So, I need to wander around even more I guess.

Or is it possible to have a 3 day break?!

I'm just stubborn, if they are laying outside (besides the shed, which only gets an egg every few days) I want to know where else to look! lol
I wouldn’t worry about a 3 day break. My Cuckoo Marans, Juillet, has often taken a few days off at a time, and then laid a full week straight. I just congratulate her when she gets some time off, and thank her when she starts laying again :)

thank you!! I will get into the groove of getting to know my girls laying habits and what the weather does to them over time :) I'm with these 17 ladies for the long haul - won't be adding any for a LONG time.

11 yesterday!! :O

They got a big ol' scrambled egg snack before bed last night as reward haha

I tried selling my eggs but no one wants to buy them so I have been giving them away to neighbors, friends, family and people at the stores I shop at. If selling doesn't work for you then you can always ask people that might be quick to accept the offer.
I have a few regular clients who buy eggs from me. Helps pay for the chicken feed.

Oh you say you won’t get any others, but then you will see these chicks at the feed store and they will somehow sneak into your truck and demand you ‘take them to the coop’. Those day-old chicks can be very intimidating! I just do as I am told….. they told me they would peck my eye if I didn’t 😳

😆

Ok all joking aside, 2 eggs so far today, thank you Twister and Silver.

One this morning before I left for work. The girls must have thought they hit the jackpot this morning. I made a mash of their food with some scraps from last night and warm water. And then I took my breakfast leftovers when I checked for eggs.

It really sucks to know that my children would rather buy eggs with toxic chemicals in them
No, that is not true, eggs are eggs. But it does surprise me how many people are afraid of food. I have always been leery of collecting wild mushrooms, but other than that I collect a lot of my own food.
