How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Hmm should be is she true marans or a mix.
She's pb. I have gotten the most beautiful dark chocolate eggs from her for about 2 years. And s few this year as well. Her laying has been a bit spotty so far this year, though. But this iz the first time I've gotten a speckle and she's the only one I can think of that it might be from. Gah, horrible grammar! Did that even make sense? 🤣

This was the first time we've gotten an egg from everyone in one day! 😃🎉

5 out of 5 hens today. 4 yesterday. & that's their norm rn. Rarely get 3 only. Usually 4-5/day. Buff Orpingtons & a Production Blue.
But this is their 1st laying season & they did not have a true molt. We've also had a fairly mild winter. But freezing temps again this week, so we'll see how they do.

Yes I sure am looking forward to the heat and humidity 😊 even the mosquitoes.

Our springs here can be miserably wet and rainy, and I have a feeling that’s what will happen this spring. And it will be mud I will have to deal with. At least snow you can move around and plow up. Mud - there is nothing you can do about it.

Today the chooks looked out the back door of the barn, gave a half hearted peck at the snow and went back in. They are also tired of this weather, I have been ensuring they have lots of stuff to do in the barn, they love picking through the horses’ stalls eating horse poop and picking grains from the straw bedding. They also have boards and planks to hop up on and run across, places to hide their eggs, and make me hunt for them hahaha.

I throw scratch grain in the bedding so they have to scratch and hunt for it. But I am sure they are ready for some outside time.
Looking like you and your feather kids are looking forward to sunshine and blue sky of spring and summer season. It is coming your way....☀️🌻

3 eggs today!
My Pekin bantam has pause laying egg, her face is of paler pink colour and she is happy and running around. So funny looking at Pekin chicken run.

My 2 professional broody Wyandottees are enjoying the green grass and yet get back to being broody. No eggs, that is fine so long
they are not broody, then I am happy.
