How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Dwarf apple tree is a great idea! It is easy for me to manage and can be planted in a chicken run.
Fruit trees like apple are generally pruned so that they are open at the top, and the branches slopes out and down, so keeping them at 6’ won’t be a problem, you just need to learn how to prune it properly. The more you prune it the more fruit it will produce. There are many YouTube videos on pruning apple trees. They are pruned differently from peach trees.

Been a bad winter here - have over 3’ of snow in the paddocks, o need to shovel off the house roof this weekend.

My poor chooks take one look out the barn door and run back inside hahaha - wimps!

My cousins husband yep the snow is that deep.

I had to clear the snow on my propane tank so the guy could fill it, also had to dig a path to it - I am getting too old for this crud; the snow is over 3’ deep there, the top of the propane tank is about 4’ at the bottom of that orange cap.

Did I mention I hate winter?

Meanwhile my chooks had a slow day with eggs, only 14 eggs today.
I wish for sunshine to you soon.🌞😎
Your chickens are so cute avoiding the cold and hate snow.

From where I am now, humid, light rain, hot, and just simply uncomfortable and itchy so seeing your pictures of snow make me feel cooler and less uncomfortable. Not to mention I have never seen it in real life of such dept of snow so it is a treat for me.

I can imagine the hard work of working through the snow to clear your propane tank. The physical exhaustion and the freezing cold.
I am over here exhausted putting out more mulch in the rain for my chickens run, walk carefully to avoid a fall in muddy areas.

Let there be sunshine and less snow your way!☀️🌻

I have so many apple trees they are like weeds here hahaha.

You will need an apple tree that has been bred to produce in a hot climate, normally they require a cold (read freeze there) to set the buds for the fruit. But there are varieties that can handle climates where there is no frost.

It’s so funny, I want mango trees which will never ever grow here. Isn’t it funny how we want the ‘exotic’ fruit trees? I am just happy I can have my Peach trees 😊♥️
You would have had load of apple cider vinegar, so many apple pies, so much apple juices, and just about anything you can use apples for cooking...

Your weather is so cold & thick with snow. Mine is so hot and sticky rain.😄
You want mango trees and I want apple trees that both do not do well in our climate. 😄
I have 2 mango trees, one is 20+ years old and it has been suffering the terrible hot/humid/endless rain over here, fruits are rotten from inside.

I keep saying I will need a second barn soon if I keep getting chooks haha. But I have enough now, maybe in a few years I will get a couple Brahma.
Is that chicken math? 😄 I told myself that let my broody hens hatch 2 eggs and I can sell the pullets so that I don't end up with too many chickens, so I told myself..and I kept the 2 pullets.😄

I love the whole mother hen sitting on eggs, raising her kids and seeing them with their mother hen. I love it and love it!

Banty Jade again! She’s skunking the Golden Comets lately.
