How much did you spend on feed this week?

I spend about $16/week on feed.

But I only have 25 chickens and they do free range during the day.

I too am using more feed. We havent had rain since July 1st. I have no grass in the yard at all now just hard packed dirt. I am lucky though I work at a feed store and get 15% off my feed. We have also been having sales so I have been getting my chicken feed anywhere from 8.07 to 9.53 for a 40lb bag. I havent given mine BOSS for awhile as a 50lb bag is almost 30.00. I have 39 chickens and 2 broodies setting on about 18 eggs. The price of hay and straw is going through the roof. Its going to be a bad winter and spring next year. The corn here is really stressed. Peole who get several cutting of hay are only getting 2 maybe 3 this year. And I know we are not in as bad a shape as some of the rest of the country. We have had people from Texas coming up buying hay and thats driving costs up too.We are suppose to get rain tomorrow but I'll believe it when I see it. Today and yesterday it was 100 degrees again. It sure has been a long hot summer. I personally will be glad when summer is over, not that I want winter but I sure am ready for a nice long fall.

Good looking Ducks on your Page.
Our winter was dry last year and not Cold long enough to kill the grasshopper eggs. Now they are even stripping the trees and eating everything that's green.

I think I spent about $60,
1-50# Show& Grow pellet $16
1-50# Layer pellet $15
1- 50# Organic Scratch $20
1- 25# chick starter $9

It should last me about 2 months or more. Hard to justify the organic scratch, when nothing else is organic, but the grains just seem cleaner, and it was on sale......
