Well some time back I was about $250 per week, But I have toned that down some now! But I probably should not post here because even though I felt I was a back yard flock owner I was selling a lot of chicks/chickens.

Not sure what your goal is here, but this poll is pretty meaningless without the numbers, ages, and status' of chickens worked in somehow.
Differences in feed formulations could make a huge difference too.
A flock and how it's managed is a very fluid thing over the course of a year.
Sorry, am picky about data without details and context.

It satisfies my curiosity, that's all. Obviously if someone is spending hundreds of dollars per month, they probably have more than a half dozen chickens. lol

A better poll would be "What is your monthly cost per chicken?" But even then it would be helpful to know how many total chickens each responder kept so you can better interpret the data. Then you would be able to compare "apples to apples".

For instance, feed is cheaper in bulk so keepers of large numbers of birds may have a lower cost per bird than those that keep less birds, even if both provide the exact same feed. If the total number of birds kept was known, then data could be compiled for sub-groups.

It would be interesting to find out an average amount spent per bird amongst keepers of six or less birds and how that figure differed from the average cost per bird amongst keepers of 6-12 birds, etc.

I'm not interested in a scientific study. I'm just
curious. If you're interested in a more detain polling, feel free to post you're own. Thanks for playing. :D

After the initial cost for first time chicken keeping, what would you estimate that you spend on your chickens per month for feed and other supplies?
It depends on the volume of your stock. At any giving time we average 150 counting mostly young to old. We breed more so more expenses shelled out in high hopes of return.
