depends on breed. maybe 500 square feet, plus a little more if you want larger breeds than RIR or plymouth?Good morning planning on hatching 100 chicks to grow out some to keep and sell when there about to lay how much space do I need for 100 chicks to grow up in to point of laying pullets![]()
Yeah thought 10 sq ft sounds better per chicken think of doing a 35’x30’ for the chicken grower cageThe 4 sq ft per bird is just the minimum for the coop. They will also require a minimum of 10 sq ft per bird for a run.
I only raise Plymouth barred rocksdepends on breed. maybe 500 square feet, plus a little more if you want larger breeds than RIR or plymouth?
So yeah 500 square feet is good. More is always better, especially if you are worried about fighting/ pecking order issues, but this lines up with what a lot of farmers recommend.I only raise Plymouth barred rocks![]()
