How old did your cockerel crow?

My last cockerel started to practice when he was 13 weeks old.

I'm glad I found this thread because my cockerel is almost 16 weeks and still hasn't crowed. Thought maybe he's a late bloomer but I guess they're all different!

I never wanted a male but decided to keep him for now. Kind of looking forward to hearing the crow!

All of mine have been different. My 13 week Bielefelder mix just started crowing and one of my Barnevelders was around the same age. My other Barnie started crowing closer to 6 weeks.

This little one crowed at 3 weeks!

I have had more than a few cockerels but my little boy Ebbie crowed at about 4 weeks!!! I was surprised he crowed so young! How old were your cockerels when they first crowed? You don’t have to have the exact age just roughly. View attachment 3882116I just took this picture of him a few days ago. Now that he is about 6 weeks he loves to crow all day!

Our second set of Black Australorp straight run, we had one start trying at 3 weeks.

Our last batch of hatchlings, one started around 8 weeks and sounded hilarious. And his two hatch mates still weren't crowing at 15 weeks when we rehomed them

mine crowed for the first time today at 9+ weeks old.

Ok so my cockerel is almost 19 weeks old and he hasn't crowed yet. He hasn't even attempted to mate any of the 11 pullets.

Is this normal? Is he just a late bloomer? I don't mind it at all because the girls haven't begun laying yet so it's good that they don't have to fight off his advances but I thought I'd at least hear a crow by now.

I will say it was hard to even tell if he was a male until much later. He took a while to develop any male specific feathering.
