My last cockerel started to practice when he was 13 weeks old.

3-4 weeks, & 4-6 months.I have had more than a few cockerels but my little boy Ebbie crowed at about 4 weeks!!! I was surprised he crowed so young! How old were your cockerels when they first crowed? You don’t have to have the exact age just roughly. View attachment 3882116I just took this picture of him a few days ago. Now that he is about 6 weeks he loves to crow all day!![]()
Funny how they all crow at such different times!3-4 weeks, & 4-6 months.
Probably a late bloomer.Ok so my cockerel is almost 19 weeks old and he hasn't crowed yet. He hasn't even attempted to mate any of the 11 pullets.
Is this normal? Is he just a late bloomer? I don't mind it at all because the girls haven't begun laying yet so it's good that they don't have to fight off his advances but I thought I'd at least hear a crow by now.
I will say it was hard to even tell if he was a male until much later. He took a while to develop any male specific feathering.
