Hi Friends,

out of the blue, my duckies have developed a ravenous appetite for tomatoes. Since three days just the word »Tomato« makes them jump out their beds, running towards me. Cracked-corn - previous favorite - Pfft! Who cares…
Their sudden tomato addiction is fine with me, we have ad plenty this year, but today i have discovered they have trampled several tomato plants, eaten the flowers, green tomatoes and all the leaves. That must be going on for days and i haven't noticed.
So far they don't show any symptoms of poisoning, they're doing just what ducks usually do, maybe talking a bit too much for my migraine head today.
They're locked out of tomato heaven for now (loud protest!), should start some preventive actions or just let mature have its way. As said they must be in the tomato patch for days.

Green tomatoes aren't poisonous. The stems are mildly poisonous, but...well, so are apple seeds. They'd have to eat a lot to hurt themselves. Also, ducks drink a lot of water, which is pretty helpful in the flushing of toxins. I don't think you have to worry about them, but I hope you weren't planning on having any tomatoes for yourself!
