How to breed Buff Sussex rooster?

Hi everyone

So I have a few buff Sussex chickens. I managed to source the only Buff Rooster I could find in our country. He isn't the best, but he looks decent

The problem is his offspring roosters are leaking a lot of black on their bodies. The girls are perfect.

Now I'm wondering what can I do to improve the young cockerels? Or any other breed of rooster I can put on my buff hens to try and get decent roosters?

Cull all black leaky males, & breed from the better less, or non leaky males. Breed from the best looking hens/pullets too. Cull any unwanted traits.
