Hi was just wondering if anyone knows of a good way to find local people who raise and breed ducks. Ive called feed stores, farm stores, and tried google and phone book. Gonna try asking around at the farmers market next Saturday, but other than that, I'm at a loss. Don't necessarily like the thought of ordering fertile eggs or ducklings since when I ordered my first lil flock of ducklings, it took 5 days to get here and 1 was dead, 2 died shortly after arriving, and the rest were in bad shape.

You can check out the BST section as well as your local craigslist.

Ya looked on Craigslist and tried eBay to see if anyone was selling eggs halfway close to me. I don't want to have eggs shipped unless I have to. and I'm a bit picky and looking for Cayuga's.

Also try posting in the "where am I, where are you" section on BYC. Search for an Illinois thread.

Also try posting an ad on Craigslist. I posted a wanted ad (against the rules in the for sale section) for chicks. Someone called and I ended up with 30 jersey giants, for $1 each from an NPIP certified breeder.

I'll try posting a wanted add Craigslist. Didn't think I'd get the duck addiction. They're just so entertaining.

HI, I just sent you a PM.
(saw your post in the"where am I, where are you" section )

I have a friend selling ducklings, in your area.

They Cayuga's are going to be a bit harder to find. Reply to my PM and we can chat more.
