How to get Sharpie off Metal?

Gah! DD takes her canned goods to Fair tomorrow and I had written 2010 on the tops of everything. Which is apparently a Fair Faux Pas and now I need to get it off the lids of the canning jars....
I have no nail polish remover...anything else?

WD-40

Works on all metal surfaces and smells sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. Learned that doing summers with sheet metal.

Second the WD-40. It even takes sharpie off plastic, after two years!!!!!

WD-40 would work, I would just make sure not to let any stay on the jar! That may be a bigger faux-paus than a little sharpie... WD40 flavored beans!

Why would that be a faux pas? At least that way they know it's fresh. Silly fair people! I second the rubbing alcohol, only because I think WD-40 would make it look greasy.

Ok...starting with WD40 cause I have some

, Think I will put just a little itty bitty bit on a Qtip and rub it that way.

If that doesnt work then I will see if there is any Rubbing Alcohol in the 1st aid kit. Maybe one of those little 'wipey things'

Then it will be off to the store for Mr. Clean erasers.

Kim this is how we do it take a dry erase marker and draw right on top of the sharpie and let it dry and wipe it off i do it everyday
