How to keep waterer unfrozen without power

Thank you all for so many creative ideas. the last couple nights the water has been freezing so I have been dumping it out at night, and refilling in the morning with warm water, and some ping pong balls in it to keep the top part from freezing, and it does help for a time.

I go back out around 1ish with more warm water. I'll try and keep this up and it seems to be working pretty good. We haven't gotten into the negatives yet so my plan might have to change or I might just bring out water more often.

One concern I have with warm water is that if it's in an open bowl and moisture is rising in their faces, I would not want that give them a quick face freeze. That's one of the things I like about horizontal nipples, they only get a little bit of water at a time ... so warm water is not producing much moisture in the face.

Solar power set for a boat or camper with battery and a 12/24 V water heater.

You only need to bring water once in the morning. It can warm the water during the whole day if you set the direction of the panel right.
