How to store eggs for hatching?

I've heard different methods; some leave them out on the counter (don't let them get warm!) You can also pop them in the fridge if it's only going to be a couple days. I've tried both for my quail eggs and had a development rate for both methods. Others may be able to give you better advice though! 😅

The ideal storage conditions are around 55 degrees Fahrenheit, about 80% humidity, and regular turning. Store them either flat on their side or pointy side down. If they are stored in those conditions they can last two weeks or so. But very few of us have ideal conditions and you are only looking at two days, not two weeks. So you want somewhere above freezing and below 80 F. For two days turning them doesn't matter. Store them either flat on their side or pointy end down. For a couple of days the humidity isn't important.

I store mine flat on their side in a spare bedroom in a drawer in a dresser to keep them away from our dog. The humidity can be pretty dry. The temperature is in the low to mid 70's F. I turn them 3 times a day. I often store them a week before I set them and they do well. Just do the best you reasonably can for those two days. Unless you really mess up the temperature (cook them or freeze them) it is hard to harm them in two days.
