I also have barnavelder chicks also, how can i tell male from female?

Generally around 5 weeks roosters combs will turn pink in those breeds. In both breeds the roosters also feather out darker across the shoulders and neck.

Sticking where? Up? Both sexes can have higher tail feathers. That has more to do with breeding as Wyandotte of either sex aren't supposed to have a high tail set, but many hatchery quality birds do.

You could post some pictures of your chicks when they are older than 6-8 weeks. You should be able to tell by how the coloring is coming in.

I would be leaning towards rooster on it due to the dark muddling across the shoulders, but Wyandotte are harder to sex.
Okay thanks, I asked about the tail cause my mum read somewhere, that the male's have loss of feathers on the shoulder at 6-8 weeks, and the female's tail is up. I wanted to double check it cause i wasn't to sure. Do you think it may be true?
