HUGE Black snake in chicken coop. Can’t Get him out

OK, I went to close my chickens coop up and I found a black snake. That’s gotta be a good 7 foot long in the rafters. I need to close them up and I cannot get the snake out and he’s getting a little testy when I try about 8 foot up and I’m 5 foot tall. He’s not real happy with me wanting to mess with him. Will he hurt my chickens? They’re all full grown. I want to think he wouldn’t but dang this thing big
I’m scared to close them up alone in the night with him

Yes, snakes can kill chickens. Do you have a neighbor that could help you get him out?

This won’t help you right now, sorry. But I use snake repellent granules or powder in my coop and have even put a little in nesting boxes under the hay. I know it can be homemade, I haven’t tried that.

No. I don’t really know my neighbors. A neighbor is like not very close. I’m kinda out there. I tried to knock him down with a shovel which wouldn’t get him out of there, but at least get him off the rafters, but he didn’t seem real happy with that. I’ve never seen a black snake this big

It sucks because he has no way out unless I leave the door open, but if I leave the door open, they will definitely die. Via raccoon or possum or something.

I’ve never had a snake in my chicken coop in like eight years. I’ve been keeping chickens. But once he’s out of there, I’m gonna have to try some kind of repellent cause it’s gonna be a long night.

I have a ton of black snakes out here so I know it’s a black snake. I’ve just never seen one this big and once I get him down getting him out of the coops gonna be a whole Nother thing.

Black snakes I wouldn’t usually worry about near my chickens, but this sucker is huge. And I already got the eggs out of the coop so he’s gonna be highly disappointed.
