Hi! I’ll start by saying I do not know genetics. But I do know 1+1=2 right?
My Cochin rooster, and cream legbar had a chick that looks like a barred rock. And the same Cochin roo and my red sex link had a black chick?? What is happening? My Cochin is my only active rooster. I SEEN the happening with my own eyeballs. I don’t have any barred rocks or any stripped chicken for that matter. Ideas?
Here’s pics of daddy, mommy and the 2 babies. (Being raised by my red sex link).

Your cochin is recessive white so he won't pass on the color white unless the hen has at least one recessive white gene. A chick could also be white if the mom has at least one dominate white gene which you RSL probably does.
Apparently your cochin is black underneath his white. Black is fairly dominate so he's passing that on.
The CCL does have barring hence where the barred got it. That would make it a sex link and male. Which it appears to be. There could always be a chance your cochin has one barring gene and could throw a female chick that has barring but I don't expect that to be the case.
I would also suspect both chicks have a good chance of showing some leakage as they mature more. Especially male offspring.

Right ok so the 2 words that stood out were leakage and male. What’s this male word especially male offspring?? You're thinking boys??

What's this male word? SMH at the world we live in. Yes male as in boy. Yes male offspring.
The barred chick is a male, male offspring, a boy.
Idk  about the black one. Didn't look too close at it.
Leakage is when the pattern or color underneath what's showing pops out in places. It's very common on a black based chick with one of its parents having a pattern.

I was joking about the male word. I already have 3 Roos, so I needed you to be clear before I had an anxiety attack lol. Well looks like I need more hens.
