Hi all! Looking for a little help. First time incubating. I’m in lockdown and I lined the bottom with wipe all, like a thicker stronger paper towel. (I know not the best idea, will use shelf liner next time!) but it’s done. My paper towel is soaked, and staying wet. Humidity is super high (80%) with vent open and I don’t know if I should try to take the paper towel out or leave it and hope for the best. Any ideas, suggestions, or similar experiences are welcome :)

How did your hatch go? What did you end up doing?
It went well! All 14 hatched and are growing fast! I left it in and it ended up just staying really wet for the most part. When about half had hatched it dried up and I used a spray bottle and warm water And just kept adding water to keep it damp and the humidity up. I had to help the last chick out because it started to dry up too much. No paper towel next time!!

i use paper towel on the bottom but have a sponge that I wet via a aquarium tube taped to a small funnel and when i need to raise humidity I turkey baster warm water onto the sponge. I keep my eggs in a basket that has paper towel on bottom with a ribbed shelf liner on top. when my hatches are dry i remove shells as long as don't see any external pips. That way everything is neatly cleaned up and disposed of.
