Yeah I wouldn't leave now, more than likely end up stranded on the road or stuck in traffic or can't get past a point and stuck not being able to get back to where you came fromNo way Jose. No one should ever get on the road during hurricane and even though the eye hasn't hit yet, the hurricane is hitting and is not safe to be on the road.
The dude on the video just said that the worst of the storm surge it's probably going to be around the Port Charlotte area and Tampa's going to be spared. Our elevation at our home is 20'
10’ would be the height of a one story building. We’ll see that on the coast when the storm hits but I doubt we’re seeing that much this far from landfallLast 20. It's different everywhere so I'm not sure, but in the screenshots that I've been posting over the last hour the water has risen from that post on the right all the way to the left of the screen. I have no clue how many feet high that is but I'm guessing 5:00 or 10:00 at least.
My elevation is -12" lol that's why we get flooded just with a wind from the s.e.dont even have to rainThe dude on the video just said that the worst of the storm surge it's probably going to be around the Port Charlotte area and Tampa's going to be spared.
I have no idea if this man knows what he's talking about or not, but I'm guessing he might have a way better clue than I do.
The elevation at my house is 32 ft.
I'm south of Tampa and south of the stormThe dude on the video just said that the worst of the storm surge it's probably going to be around the Port Charlotte area and Tampa's going to be spared.

Any elevation that starts with a minus isn’t goodMy elevation is -12" lol that's why we get flooded just with a wind from the s.e.dont even have to rain
That’s correct, storm surge only affects coastal areas. Doesn’t mean it won’t flood from rain or have wind damage.I'm not sure but I know when they hype up storm surge issues when we get hurricanes here I don't have to worry about it but I'm 30 miles away from the coast.
Again, I'm not sure, but I think unless you're right along the coast like a mile or two then storm surge may not be an issue. I'm not sure how that works though.
