Hy-Lines attacking my Leghorn

It takes about 25 hours for an egg to be formed inside a hen's body, so in general a hen will lay about an hour later each day, then take a day off and start again the following morning. I believe Educator @aart has a wonderful graphic showing the process. Maybe she will share it again here.

Glad your girls are starting to get along better.

Thank you!

I think another chooky today had reached the end of her clutch cycle. I will see what happens tomorrow.

But yes meanwhile Chamomile is happily hanging out with my Hy-Lines in the front yard all day long! Just as she used to.

Thanks again everyone for your help!

It has been over two weeks now and my chookies are all getting along nicely! I had planted some lavender, and also used some intervention and discipline to the bully chooks.

A good thing now too is that Chamomile's confidence is developing! There are a couple of times when Cardamom and sometimes Cumin seem a bit 'testy' around Chamomile. Chamomile tends to do her little cautious and dare I saw whingy whinny, but her tail and head are tall - she's not stressed. All the chooks are comfortable foraging, dust-bathing and chilling out together.

I guess a big advantage I have is that my chooks have a lot of space to move around. They free-range across both the backyard when it is cooler and to the front yard when it is warmer.
