Hello. I’ve used this site for a couple years and finally decided to join. The information on here is invaluable.
We live in a city and have had four urban hens for 2.5 years now. Love them all and of course our favourite one is currently in palliative care.
It’s been an expensive venture and my husband calculated that each egg we get is worth approx $35 each!
Not exactly getting “free” eggs like people think we are. I grew up seeing chickens on farms but never spent any real time with them. These girls really surprised us with their distinctive personalities. Some are cuddly, some noisy or grumpy, but all so sweet. I didn’t think I’d be sad when one died, but that has changed!
