I adore my partner/best friend, but it really irks me when...

!

Have you asked why? In my childhood (and now), I almost never took the rest of a food item because someone else might also want some.
They're in their 40s now, but suppose I could still ask. I didn't eat cereal. That was all theirs, and trust me, the two of them weren't being thoughtful of each other.

They just wanted to be the one who got the first bowl out of a new box. We were sort of poor back then, so opening a new box of cereal was apparently a highlight of the day. :idunno

When the three television sets are all on at the same time.
Okay, there's a new pet peeve I've lived with and never brought up to anyone, but why does anyone need a TV on all night?

Example: Last night, I went to bed early. TV off. I woke up around 4 a.m. to something on the History Channel about tesla coils. He never turns it up loud so it's not like it wakes me up. The worst thing is he's got a cold so got up to go sleep on the sofa, and LEFT THE TV ON! :idunno

This TV has a sleep timer on it I've set for 1:00 a.m., but he'll wake up in the night and turn it back on.

I do similar; something about being uncomfortable trying to still my own thoughts before sleep or with the lack of activity while I drift off.

I think it is a good habit to break, especially as it makes sleeping during a power outage ridiculously hard!
