I cannot get this incubator humidity to get much higher without closing. Anyone have any tips? This won't work for hatching and I'm getting nervous

I had the same issue with the same incubator, I am a newbie so take this with a grain of salt but what worked for me was filling the left water reservoir, and only partially filling the right reservoir (the one you can fill from the outside) i don't know why it worked but it has!

Since doing that my humidity sits at 49-50 which from my understanding is ideal.

I've also heard you can take a small clipping from a sponge and soak it in water to create more humidity but I have not done that (yet lol!)

Good luck!

Really?!? I saw this was recommended so I gave it a go. I'm nervous about this I have 12 days left to hatch... have you filled it throughout the whole incubation or did you just add water at the beginning and it was fine? Im wondering if I add a humidifier to the room would that be helpful?

Your humidity is fine and it won't likely allow it to raise until lock down
Really? I'll have to look at the paperwork again that came in the box to see if that's a possibility. I'm just concerned that when lockdown comes along and I can't get the humidity up enough it's going to be a problem.

I just started them last night, but so far since it's winter and it's very dry here ive had to fill it about once a day. I'm sure adding a humidifier would help!

This confuses me as that incubator can be filled without opening it, so do you mean you're not getting that to go up while it's open?

I highly doubt there is any control overriding your ability to make it be any humidity you want it to be.

If filling the reservoir(s), with the lid closed, still can't get it to get to 70-ish when you do lockdown, there's a couple other tricks like a brand new small sponge, get damp with distilled water, and set it inside the incubator. You'll risk it going too high, so squeeze as much water out as you can, and you can add more if it's not enough. A damp paper towel balled up works too.
