I Didn't Want Chickens

I went out to the coop to check on things and got a friend to help.

Love it! I too said no to chickens for years. I now have nine chicks in my spare bedroom! I am blaming it on Tractor Supply moving into our town! hahahaha

I am getting some water into the coop during heavy rains. I put thick black plastic over the top but some still got it. I will have to study this.

I am doctoring it. I don't think it is pox as it doesn't look like any of the photos I have seen. She has no other sores and none of the other birds do at all. I am thinking it is an eye injury. I am keeping it doctored with Bag Balm.

Fantastic! And rinse with saline, yes it might be a pecking injury? Amazing how fast chickens can heal if we just give them a little help.

The upstairs is not enclosed, think of it as a deck. I am going to enclose it on the West and North walls as that is the direction most of the rain comes from. I will also put up chicken wire on the top floor so the birds can get up there as well.

Installed the new cafeteria for the girls.

Primed the pump with some feed on the edge.
