at 9:00 pm I get a call from my boyfriend saying his cat found a baby bird and they can’t find the nest so he asked me to take care of it. (In the past I raised wild birds.) I can’t find the type of bird this is, I live in Oregon. It’s 10:43 please help.

I would bring it back where you found it.Mothers will kick there babies out of there nest once there old enough and while they cant fly yet still the mother will bring them food thought the day .I have tons of robins same size as the bird in the picture around my yard each spring. If you don't want to do that call a raptor center or a Fish and Game and ask for help.

Best I can guess by cross referencing from the Oregon list of their DNR and my bird identification book, I would venture to guess a varied thrush. Not even 50% sure but the best thing to do is take it to your local DNR.

Just feed it dog food. Either canned or moistened dry will do. Keep it warm. When it is old enough to be released, hang its cage in a tree, make sure there is food and water in the cage and open the door. Sometimes the babies come back to the cage for food and rest and some don't.

This is what my local wildlife rescue told me to do. I have raised and released a lot of baby birds.

That looks like a fledgling. Very normal to find these out of the nest and parents will come and feed it. I guess since we dont know where the cat may have gotten it it may be better in your hands. If you can find a wildlife rehabber near you that would be the best option for the bird. The pointed beak says its an insect eater. Research “local birds in Oregon”
