I hate winter and my ducks too!!!

Runners are just the coolest ducks I love their enthusiasm for life. No way you can be around them with out smiling or laughing at their antics. @llombardo so sweet what you have done to keep your ducks and chickens safe. Very special. Hope you can get all things cleaned up and fixed up soon!

I bet thats a mess! haha

This ain't my first rodeo..lol

They really can't destroy it anymore thrn the first group did. luckily I have not redone it yet.

I've got a plan. It seems the snow in the bowl satisfies the dunking and drinking without a big mess, by the time it melts they drank it all. So I dig for snow every morning. Then when I come home from work they swim in the tub for a couple hours. It sounds like a couple toddlers playing. Then it's bed time. If I knew they could get in and out of the tub(I did put a step stool and a bowl) I would just leave water in the tub all day for them. Only one, Lucy figured out how to get out and back in.

They are my babies. We will make due until I get things outside situated. It might be a while. Time and weather are not my friend right now. I may end up building a pen in the pen to get a roof..lol

The light snow continued for the whole day and we picked up about an inch. In the evening the wind picked up here and it feels really, really cold. The ducks are as frustrated as i am and took it out on me: Playing games like making a sharp right turn at the door and running back to the pool and through the mud until i slipped and fell… Now i am limping like Limpy Duck.

You make it sound like you can empty and refill the bath tub but you still melt snow for them?

soon you wont want them to go back outside!

I had no power and no water(well). I was filling the bowl with snow. Once the power went on i filled the tub for them. I still think I may do the snow during the day to avoid a huge mess, at least until I can thaw out the container that my flax bedding is in. Got the food inside, tomorrow will be bedding.

They will go back outside, but I don't foresee it being soon. I got to get the tree branches cut, fix the run and come up with a plan to make a roof for the run.

This is my run right now
