I have a biter....

Hello everyone, I have 4 black sex links that are roughly 4 weeks old, one of them has become a biter and is constantly going for my arm or hand every time I clean the brooder, change water, fill their feed or just trying to hold them. Is this normal behavior for this breed and is it something she'll outgrow? I was told that they're a docile and friendly breed, but she's showing me otherwise!

I don’t think so, I was told that it would have a white dot on its head if it’s a rooster, and there’s no white dot.

Mamma hen wouldn't tolerate it, neither should you.

I would maybe flick her or tap her hard which should seem like a hard peck. I have 2 hens that still bite me, but one has actually warmed up to me! The trick is hand-feeding and feeding treats. Maybe try to hold her?

Okay, Someone else mentioned that also so I’ll give that a shot and try to hold her more, if she doesn’t bite me in the process .

I have some too but mine are 7 weeks. 1 who is definitely a cockeral would bite my clothing and just hang there like a dog or something. Thankfully 1 is definitely a pullet and is the sweetest thing. Still can't touch most though or they scream.

Black Sex-links have Rhode Island Red in them and the bold behavior is typical of Rhodies. Mine were very docile as adults though.

I have a mottled that does the same thing! She (please don't be a "he") latched on like a dog taking her OUT OF THE SHIPPING BOX. I've never seen such mouthy chicks. I thought they were supposed to be docile!
