Here’s Rosemarys photoThat would be good. If you get some pictures of Rosemary from the side we can help determine if she is a cockerel. The comb is pretty red but I would expect it to be a lot bigger at 14 weeks. They do get redder when they get closer to laying so she could just be maturing a little faster
Ok I’m so glad you had luck with bantam buddies!!! bantams are just our full of surprises with health, personality ect… I hope your blind chicken is happy you sound like you’re an amazing owner! Thank you for sharing your experience! I am putting two bantams in with her! They’re Japanese bantams!!! From my sweet hen Luna and my sassy rooster Miso! Our blind girl, Speckled Sussex, was attacked by a predator, possible hawk. She has flipped through a couple buddies due to deaths (old age, poor genetics-frazzle).
We have kept her in a little coop with those that won't pick on her. Her current companions are a Millie Fleur Roo and a bantam frizzle hen.
The roo she picked out herself, we have 2 bantam boys and he is the "beta." The frizzle has been getting picked on and was sleeping alone outside in the run of the big coop. She hung around this Roo so she got moved (as long as she doesn't pick on the blind girl).
We have pretty much let her pick her buddy, as long as they don't pick on her, and kept them in a smaller coop with an area for her to sleep on the floor.
We have had luck with Bantam buddies.
Do you think Rosemary is a cockerel or a pullet? Or not sure,I’m thinking it’s a cockerel!Dandelion and Clover
Do you have a full body one? Here’s Rosemarys photo
YesDo you have a full body one?
Okay so would it be okay to put er in with Cruella I just put Margaret in their and they got along very wellHmm that’s kind of fuzzy but I still don’t see anything that screams cockerel.
