No. Don;t think he ever teamed with anyone, although now that he passed on with The Wheel of Time not quite finished (he did completely outline it, though) another author, Brandon Sanderson, was selected to finish the last book; which have turned into three books, the first two written, but I don;t think he can possibly tie up all the loose ends in a single volume unless it is about double the length of any of the previous ones (most are 850 to 950 pages).

Anyways, the series is VERY, VERY good, but I would not compare it to Tolkein.

mom'sfolly :

...If you like Alcott, you should read Jane Austin. Mostly romances, they are set in middle class England and are about middle class character, values and life. My favorite is Sense and Sensibility.

Along these lines (Regency & Georgian Romance), try anything by Georgette Heyer. She also wrote several historical novels and some crime/mysteries set in the 1920s/30s.

Have you tired any of the James Patterson stuff? I'm not that into the Alex Cross series, but love the Women's Murder Club books.
I also just read Dean Koontz "False Memory" it was pretty good, crazy but good!
