For 2 days I had an egg trying to hatch my step son came to my house while I was at work noticed it was not outside the shell so he took it up on his self to help it now the is no shell on this chick only a long thick yellow green string thing and some thick stuff on its back going down to the string it's still alive chirping and some how moving every now and then it can't get off it's left side and it's still damp not sure what time he did this but I have been home from work for 5 hrs now what can I do will it die

I would just leave it in the incubator and leave it sit there untouched for a few hours to see how it does. Whatever that is must be yolk or umbilical cord I'm guessing. A picture would help, but regardless, it should just dry off and be fine. That's provided it's been incubating for 21 days or so, and it was pipped and/or zipped by itself already.

I can't really tell too much from that, and honestly, it looks like those in my incubator last night. I had 10 of them all wet and exhausted.

How's it doing today? Hopefully dried off and walking around.

No not walking around still laying there flopping around what ever it is it's dried more pictures I took tonight if this might help
