I thought chickens layed eggs at 6 months?

My chickens go broody whether there are eggs or not. Lol! And having babies around can cause those hormones to kick in.

Also, I have one who decided to molt now. This late.

The chicks are now full grown poor thing I might put some silky rock eggs for her to sit on.

I am going to try to put silky rock eggs under her. As long as she hatches them they should be fine

I went to her nesting box to put some silky rock eggs in there and a suprise to my eyes layed 2 little silky chicken eggs

I put a few more eggs in there so now she has 7 eggs to sit on. I can't wait for the others to start laying!
