Some nice looking birds
The hen pictured is from someone fairly local that says they started with Frank Reese birds. The growouts pictured are from those hens and a Kraig Shafer cock from Ohio. I have one pullet from a guy in Arizona that I plan to use under my cock this year too. Some nice looking birds
What hatchery/breeder are they from?
I was thinking they were too nice for hatchery stock. The hen pictured is from someone fairly local that says they started with Frank Reese birds. I started with hatchery Rocks. Well, overall, I started with breeder Buff Orpingtons, that was what I had always thought I'd wanted. But they took ages to start laying, laid poorly, and at some point I learned about black sexlinks, so set out to find some Barred Rock pullets. Went through an enormous rigamarole, but did eventually get some. Hatched some sexlinks, nobody wanted them. Decided I really liked the Rocks though, and set out to get better ones. I'm a couple years in now.I was thinking they were too nice for hatchery stock.
