Illinois...

Hey y'all! It's been a while. I hope everyone is having a great start to their 2025. This winter has been SO mild but of course I chose the last week to demo and rebuild my coop. LOL!!! After as much wood glue and flex tape is she could manage, it was time! Gave my boys a good chance to swing the sledge hammer a bit and stay out of trouble over their winter break.

The steel for the roof is on order and I need to fix some fencing in the run and paint and spray foam in the spring but it's so much better!

I know we need winter and all but does it have to be SOOO wintery? Like, let's not be dramatic, 33° is more than sufficient to winter things up. 😂🤣 If it simply must hit 32, do it overnight and be back at 33 or higher by the time chickens wake up and need water. I'll even tolerate high 20's for a short period of time but this 11° nonsense is getting old. 😂🤣

Heated water bowl for the chickens and pig. Only ice busting I have to do is for the beagles.
