Illinois...

@Molpet
Today is technically hatch day.
100% turkeys hatched - again! 2 of the 12 have sore navels so hopefully they will be fine
I set 6 of your "meat mutt" eggs. 5 hatched. There's one still in the incubator. No pip but I saw it's little beak is working away inside the air cell when I candled.
I also hatched 4 seramas and 4 silkies from my own eggs.
Pics will come....

I have a loud brooder & one very happy frizzled bantam Cochin. (She was literally sitting on rocks for over a month) I'll put her in a broody cage inside the run in 5-6 days. For now they're house chickens/poults.
:love 🐣

In other big news:
Guess who got an acceptance letter from the prestigious Illinois Math and Science Academy (IMSA)?! We are very proud.

I have a ton of seedlings waiting for Mother's Day and my 4 week old chicks got some outside time the other day when it hit 80. Anxious to get all of this outside!!

The refurbished coop is about 3/4 painted. I ran out before getting a full 2nd coat and still need to do the trim pieces but otherwise good. I need to do a few tweaks on it too now that the weather is better. Building that thing in December/January was not ideal so we got the necessary stuff done and saved the rest for spring.😂. Well, it's Spring!!

We have a two year old Toulouse gander that needs a new home. He is perfectly healthy but is being picked on by our breeding Toulouse pair and we don't have enought space for all three. Looking for a home with geese currently. Located in the western suburbs of Chicago.
